Untitled Work By John Meredith

John Meredith and his work

Canadian artist John Meredith is a well-known contemporary painter whose works have attracted international attention. His bright, bold murals have been exhibited in major galleries and museums in Canada, the United States and Europe.

His aim in general terms thought has been described by him-“I attempt, through painting, to express and give visual existence to thoughts, feelings and intellectual reactions to things with and outside of me.”

The triptych which Mr. Meredith was commissioned to create for the NAC Cafe is an excellent example of the artist’s highly individualistic style. Now hanging in the Opera Foyer, it is a large horizontal abstract with splashed or orange and yellow outlined in black, against a blue ground.
