Clan Unity
- Clan Unity was completed by Dempsey Bob in 1985. It is now placed on the second floor, above the foyer of the National Arts Centre, on Elgin Street, in Ottawa, Ontario. The entire work is carved from red cedar and decorated with acrylic paint. The artist placed many symbolic designs in this sculpture, such as the raven, the sun, the man, the bentwood box, etc. The main theme of Clan Unity is the trade and the sharing of ideas and commodities. As an aboriginal artist, Dempsey Bob also wants to through Clan Unity to express his wish for the four native groups along the northwest coast, hope they can make progress together.
