Chris McRoberts, an eighth grade U.S. history teacher, said Trump\u2019s campaign has made the election far more interesting to his students. \u201cI haven\u2019t really liked talking about the election to students here,\u201d he said. \u201cBecause you have to explain too many awful things, you know, talking about that videotape that came out. I didn\u2019t want to talk about that with eighth graders, so I didn\u2019t.\u201d McRoberts said Clinton\u2019s email scandal was another issue he didn\u2019t want to discuss with his students. \u201cI can\u2019t believe we\u2019ve come here as a country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Parents, too, are concerned about the election\u2019s effect on their children. Dawn Hall\u2019s 12-year-old daughter is a Trump supporter, and Hall worries about Trump\u2019s sexism. \u201cThe way he treats women, I don\u2019t like it,\u201d she said. \u201cI don\u2019t think that\u2019s right, and I don\u2019t want my daughter to get the impression that that\u2019s okay, for a man to treat a woman like that.\u201d Hall said her daughter isn\u2019t old enough to be discussing Trump\u2019s sexual misdemeanors. \u201cWhen she brings it up, I try talking about the other good things,\u201d she said. \u201cMaybe a third party would be better.\u201d<\/p>\n
Patricia Fritz agrees that Trump\u2019s behaviour is inappropriate for a president. Fritz has a 12-year-old granddaughter.
