This Midweek show fell smack on the day Canada officially legalized cannabis, so we were on the story:<\/p>\n

Reporter Katie Jacobs joined us live from the ByWard Market to explain how cafes and restaurants there think they may be affected; we also looked at how a looming postal strike could snuff out cannabis deliveries from online retailers; and we heard how a mushrooming of cannabis research funding may be next.<\/p>\n

Our reporters also visited an international vegan film fest in Ottawa, a theatre company specializing in short plays, a library where you can check out an actual living person, and a film series opening in Ottawa linked to reconciliation between Canada and Indigenous peoples.<\/p>\n

Then Midweek’s Meg Sutton showed real reporting range with stories on the safety of seatbelts in school buses and the history of pumpkins on porches.<\/p>\n

Finally, Midweek’s Adm van der Zwan took us on a visit to a local blind psychic who discovered at an early age he could see far more than those with actual eyesight.<\/p>\n

Adam’s documentary was a real show-stopper — both because of his subject’s shocking reading of Adam’s own future and because…well, it was the last item in the show.<\/p>\n
