This was my first experience reporting abroad and on a story this massive in scale so I have plenty of people to thank.\u00a0 I would not have completed this without the help of John Bartlett, who was my translator and coordinator of sorts while I was in Chile. Reporting in a country where I did not know the language was a challenge and John was an excellent companion and friend in ensuring I could collect as much information as possible. My supervisor, Brett Popplewell, was an immense help over the year. This story was ambitious and Brett’s editing and advice were necessary for me to complete it. I was unfamiliar with a lot of the technology that goes into making a multimedia project and Roger Martin was generous with his time in helping me understand how to put this story on a screen. Thank you to Susan Harada as well for the second reading of my draft.
