His strategy is simple: Walk in with \u201ca pretty good list,\u201d and stick to it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At the top of his list: a new sleeping bag.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This young Canadian may be sticking to his shopping list but, according to a 2019 <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www150.statcan.gc.ca\/n1\/pub\/11-626-x\/11-626-x2019003-eng.htm\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">report<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> by Statistics Canada, not many Canadians do.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The report revealed that household debt to income ratio has been steadily increasing in Canada over the past decade. Since 2007, the ratio has risen by 20 per cent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On one of the biggest shopping days of the year, when retailers slash prices and heavily advertise, Canadians are even more prone to spend. According to the Retail Council of Canada, Canadians spent an average of $824 on holiday expenses last year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>A budget, a vision and climate awareness: A new Black Friday to-do list<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some organizations, like cosmetic company <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/deciem.com\/blackout.htm\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Deciem<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, are skipping the Black Friday folly entirely.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Canadian beauty company offered a store-wide 23 per cent discount for every day of November except one: Black Friday. On Black Friday, Deciem\u2019s site will go dark for 24 hours. Part of being a good parent is having a good holiday. On Black Friday, Deciem\u2019s site will go dark for 24 hours.
