Jordan Steinhauer

Born in the vibrant and eclectic city of St. John’s, Newfoundland, the natural beauty and history of her hometown led Jordan Steinhauer to pursue a career as a storyteller.

She completed a double major in Communication Studies and English, with a diploma in Performance and Communications Media at Memorial University in Newfoundland. While at Memorial Jordan hosted weekly newscasts that were broadcasted across the province on CHMR FM.

She has worked with CBC Radio’s St. John’s Morning Show, in Newfoundland, CBC Ottawa’s weekend television show, Our Ottawa, and CTV News Ottawa’s 6 o’clock news hour.

Jordan has collaborated on a number of short films and documentaries including the St. John’s Women’s Film Festival documentary selection, The View From Here, as well as Watching Karla Homolka, I Am Apollo and It Is Good.

This summer, Jordan worked abroad as an international Communications Officer at the Saigontourist Hospitality College in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. While there, she received a SSHRC scholarship to pursue research on the disabled population in Vietnam.
