The three podcasts our Midweek team produces each week are pulled together with each of us working at home — homes scattered halfway around the world, though mostly here in Ottawa — and collaborating online. That’s the way we’ve adapted to the restrictions and precautions the current pandemic has imposed on all of us.

Normally, though, Midweek’s own “home” would be on CKCU-FM (93.1 on your FM … well, likely not “dial,” but you get what we mean). We’d be coming to you live on the radio for nearly 90 minutes from just after the BBC news at noon on Wednesdays.

That live show would originate from Midweek’s newsroom and studios in the School of Journalism and Communication at Carleton University, where all of Midweek’s reporters and producers are senior students in the undergraduate or graduate journalism programs.

We can’t do that live show this year — but we’re coming back to CKCU-FM on Thursday mornings, from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. as part of the station’s Special Blend morning shows. That weekly almost-one-hour show will be a compilation of the three podcasts, once again coming on right after the BBC news at 7 a.m.
