Can you believe it?!

There is only one more show remaining in the Midweek season. In this penultimate show, hosts Ally Lemieux-Fanset and Sophia Foglia were in the broadcasting booth.

Ally Lemieux-Fanset and Sophia Foglia are this week’s hosting duo.

As per usual, our Midweek staff arrived by 8:30 a.m. sharp.

Unlike past broadcasts, the production team didn’t convene the night before to finalize their roles and responsibilities,. However, our reporters are seasoned pros when it comes to putting together a live radio show, and the proof was in the pudding for today’s broadcast.

Our reporters and members of the production team continued to be closely paired and actively involved with one another, demonstrating the exceptional dynamics inside our newsroom.

By 9:15 a.m., our lineup was complete and posted on the chalkboard.

The show lineup is the key ingredient for producing a live radio show.

There were no technical problems to report either.

By approximately 11:45 a.m., our hosts had their scripts in their hands. This included the entire first and second halves of the show’s scripts and songs!

It was once again exemplary and proactive work!

Our show producer, sound technician, and music producer are ready to go live on-air!

The live show featured conversations about the rise in Islamophobia and antisemitism in Canada amid the Israel-Hamas conflict, as well as how advocates for women’s rights are using the month of November to campaign towards ending violence against women.

The next items in the lineup featured highlights from the Ottawa International Airport Authority who are going forward with the controversial clear-cutting of a forest on Hunt Club Road, in addition to how the global shortage of the prescription medication Ozempic has sparked concern among Ottawa-based healthcare providers.

There were also stories which reflected on a vigil in downtown Ottawa for Trans Day of Remembrance, and the rediscovery of Attenborough’s long-beaked echidna.

We had another superb broadcast due to the core members of our relentless and industrious news crew.

See you next week for our season finale!
