Are beer drinking and moustache shaving mutually exclusive? Apparently not. The Overflow Brewing Company is throwing a Movember wrap-up party with live music and shavers on-site. Proceeds go to The Movember Foundation.

The city’s “maker of very good beer” is collecting food and money donations for the Gloucester Emergency Food Cupboard on Sunday. Beer will be served, and local artisans will have crafts and gifts for sale.

Barrhaven Food and Beverage Showcase
Wednesday Dec. 5 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., St. Mother Teresa High School, 440 Longfields Dr. Cost: Free

Hosted by the Barrhaven BIA, this event celebrates local business, and features a keynote speech by Mayor Jim Watson. There will be food and drinks from a variety of local restaurants, and proceeds from liquor samples will be donated to the Barrhaven Salvation Army.

Advent Calendar of Drinks

The Hintonburg Public House’s annual advent calendar of drinks starts this weekend and runs until December 24. Each day they offer a new holiday-themed beverage, and for each cocktail purchased, the pub will donate $2 to the Parkdale Food Centre.
