Midweek’s “We Need A Break” Show!
Our time slot on Oct. 26 fell during Carleton University’s Fall Break, so we filled it with a special show of great stories from earlier this fall … while we caught up on studies, work and sleep!

Hockey, housing, hurricanes, havens, Halloween and a whole heck of a lot of other topics on this edition of Midweek, including sea shanties, dodging deer, and nostalgic piercings.
This week took us into a municipal election race, rescuing dogs from the Caribbean, views on booster shots, a local church still trying to tend to the needy after a fire, food banks dealing with inflation, ice cream’s future as winter comes, an expat Thanksgiving in Scotland, and much more!
This week sees us on Parliament Hill speaking with Indigenous youth (and a national party leader) about reconciliation through truth, looking at the local impacts of turmoil in Iran over women’s rights (and much more), weighing progress towards a liveable minimum wage, pausing for a cold one and a piano sonata, looking downward seeking fungus (not as gross as it sounds) and upwards seeking stars…
Aaaaaand…we’re back again for a brand-new Midweek season with a brand-new Midweek crew! The voices and faces may be different (now that we can see each other’s faces), but it’s still the same eclectic show: Wagging tails and tales of climate crisis, mayoral races, film fests, fusion food fairs, lifting for women & lots more! Oh…and butter tarts, too!
This season’s final show — basketball champs, and champions for refugees and the hungry; deep dives into the nature of war crimes, the consequences of raising speed limits, and the tricky stick-handling of turning washrooms gender-neutral; plus weddings, jazz, comedy and…Pokémon. Yes, the world in a show!
