Ian Campbell is an Ontarian by birth, and a Newfoundlander by choice, who likes to call both Ottawa and St. John’s his two homes.
He has worked as a teacher and a storyteller across different mediums, including as a theatre director and producer, an author of children’s plays, and a documentary filmmaker. His adaptations of Richard III and Henry V for young audiences are published as part of the Playing with Plays series.
Most recently, he served as Digital Projects Manager for Wonderbolt Productions in St. John’s, NL, where he helped them re-imagine their annual St. John’s International CircusFest as a digital gathering in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This has included designing an interactive online platform, and creating content that helps the festival to retain a strong sense of place.
When not spending far too much time on Zoom, you can find him hiking a trail, eating a baked good, or watching CrashCourse videos on YouTube.
