Town crying’s heyday was in the Medieval Era, but its bell ringing and voice booming can still be heard in Canada’s capital. Daniel Richer is a professional town crier of 35 years and the official town crier for the City of Ottawa and the National Capital Region. Richer is known for his many elegant uniforms and relishes the opportunity to promote his hometown and share the story of Ottawa with the world.
