Ben Andrews grew up in Windsor, Ontario, eventually pursuing a bachelors in Kinesiology at the University of Windsor. After deciding to pivot his career aspirations towards journalism, he completed a master’s degree in political science at Dalhousie University in Halifax before packing his things into a tiny Honda Fit and driving to Ottawa with his partner.
Ben was first drawn to journalism during a research assistantship in which he spent hours cataloguing and summarizing archived newspaper articles. He hopes that one day an underpaid overworked research assistant will stumble across his byline for a project on politics, conflict or the environment.
Ben has worked in clinics, bars and in Northern Ontario planting trees. He is a runner, reader and Canadian football fan.
